We’re glad you’re here!

Do you need emergency support for your animals?

Can you help your community with emergency animal support?

What is VEMAnet?

VEMAnet stands for Volunteers for the Emergency Management of Animals Network. VEMAnet is an emergency and evacuation resource helping to connect volunteer services and animal owners in times of urgency.

VEMAnet is a program of the Good Shepherd Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1949 and dedicated to the protection of animals. In 2015, the Good Shepherd Foundation developed a website to assist with the emergency evacuation of animals from a volcanic eruption in Hawaii, and the Hawaii County Council awarded the Good Shepherd Foundation a Certificate of Appreciation for our efforts. We have expanded this concept to create VEMAnet, making this free service available to everyone in the US.
